Short answer: If water is actively leaking, shut off your main water valve first to stop the damage, then call your local Leak Seekers team. We offer same-day leak detection in most cases during business hours (Monday–Friday 7 am–6 pm, Saturday 7 am–12 pm).
What to do right now
- Shut off the water. Close your main shut-off valve, usually where the line enters the house or at the meter. For a single fixture, close its local valve.
- Protect people and power. If water is near outlets, appliances or the electrical panel, stay clear and turn off power to the area only if it is safe to do so.
- Limit the damage. Move valuables, mop up standing water and start drying the area with fans if it is safe.
- Document it. Take photos and video for your insurance company.
- Call your local team. We'll locate the source so the right repair can be made.
When to call a plumber or restoration company first
If a pipe has burst and water is pouring out, you may also need an emergency plumber to make the immediate repair and a water damage restoration company to dry out the property. Leak Seekers specializes in finding the hidden leaks that are hard to locate: under slabs, in walls, underground and beneath pools.
Our hours
